Visit the Wolf’s Lair from Gdansk

Embark with us on an engaging day tour from Gdansk into the mesmerizing Polish region of Mazury, brimming with WWII historical landmarks. After a scenic ride, our first destination is the infamous Wolf’s Lair (Wolfsschanze), Hitler’s furthest eastern military base during WWII.

Erected strategically for Operation Barbarossa – the catastrophic German invasion of Russia in 1941 – this fortification stands as a grim testament to the era. Hitler’s stay here extended over 800 days, with his final departure on 20th November 1944.

Travel to the Wolf’s Lair from Gdansk in the Company of an Expert Historian Guide…

The Wolf’s Lair carries the poignant history of the 20 July Plot – the war’s most significant assassination attempt on Hitler. The dramatic events, recreated in the film Valkyrie, were led by Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg and his co-conspirators.

After delving into the stark narratives of the Wolf’s Lair, we proceed to the Mamerki bunkers. This complex accommodated lower-ranking German military personnel and visitors arriving at the Wolf’s Lair.

Our tour culminates at the remnants of an enormous lock, a part of the canal the Germans were constructing from Mazury to the Baltic Sea. The purpose of this grand waterway remains a matter of speculation. Join us and gauge for yourself – could U-Boats have navigated this route?
