Your journey with us through the historic Krakow Jewish Ghetto, immortalized in Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List, takes you to the poignant landmarks that bear witness to a harrowing period of history.
You will tour the area where the Ghetto was established in March 1941, including the Memorial at Ghetto Heroes Square, the Judenrat – the former site of the Jewish Ghetto Council – and remnants of the Ghetto Wall. A key highlight is the unmistakable façade of Schindler’s Enamel Factory, where the righteous Oskar Schindler saved approximately 1,200 Jewish lives.
Our path also leads us to the Pharmacy Under the Eagle, which operated within the Ghetto under the non-Jewish proprietor, Tadeusz Pankiewicz. Together with his staff – Irena Drozdzikowska, Aurelia Danek, & Helena Krywaniuk – they courageously provided medicine, food, and refuge to the Jews, earning them the Righteous Among the Nations honor.
For those choosing our extended tour, join us as we travel by tram to the KL Krakow-Plaszow Concentration Camp, another location that was prominently featured in Schindler’s List. Walk through the haunting grounds and witness the site where thousands of innocent lives were claimed.
Visit the house of Amon Goeth, the infamous commandant of Plaszow, and gain insight into the grim history.
