Immerse yourself in medieval history on our tour of Malbork Castle. Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site, this formidable structure holds the impressive distinction of being the largest brick castle in the world and has the most extensive land area of any castle on Earth.
Founded by the Teutonic Knights as a residence for their Grand Master, the castle originally served as the epicentre of their monastic state when they relocated from Venice. However, its history is deeply intertwined with Poland, as the nation has been its longer-term occupant, extending far beyond the period of the Teutonic Knights.
Despite severe destruction incurred during the fierce combats between the Germans and Russians towards the climax of WWII, Malbork Castle has risen from its ruins. Today, after a meticulous restoration, it stands as a testament to the resilience of the Polish nation and invites visitors to delve into its rich past.
On our tour, you will unravel both the ancient and more recent narratives that breathe life into this colossal fortress. If you wish to extend this historical exploration with a visit to Westerplatte, please contact us for more information.
Let’s embark on this unforgettable journey through the annals of time together.
