While visiting Wroclaw, seize the opportunity to join us for an enlightening tour of two sites that hold critical significance to World War II in Poland. This tour takes you on a journey through history, uncovering the dark past and the resilience of the human spirit.
We begin our journey with a visit to the German Concentration and Labour Camp Gross-Rosen, which served as a sub-camp of the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. Here, you will witness the remnants of the camp and learn about the harrowing experiences of the prisoners subjected to forced labor and inhumane conditions. Our knowledgeable guides will share stories that bring to life the struggles and perseverance of those who were imprisoned here.
Following Gross-Rosen, we travel to Osowka to explore the enigmatic Nazi megastructure known as Projekt Riese. This extensive tunnel system, carved into the Owl Mountains, is shrouded in mystery. With a labyrinth of underground passages and chambers, historians continue to debate the true purpose of this complex. Was it intended to be a secret headquarters, a weapons facility, or something else?
As part of the tour, you will also learn about the intriguing legends surrounding Projekt Riese, including the rumors of buried Nazi gold. Engage with the mysteries and theories as you navigate the tunnels and imagine the vast operations that might have taken place within these walls.
Join us as we uncover the multifaceted history of World War II in Poland, from the somber grounds of Gross-Rosen to the enigmatic tunnels of Projekt Riese.
