This four-day tour to southern Poland is designed as a direct extension of the Poland At War Comprehensive 14-Day Tour for those who wish to engage in a longer tour experience in Poland. However, even if you have not completed the main tour, you are more than welcome to join us and experience this standalone tour to southern Poland, taking in many of Poland’s most significant sites of WWII history.
This tour makes guided visits to the Projekt Riese Nazi Mega Structure, Gross-Rosen Concentration Camp, and, of course, the historic city of Wroclaw itself. This is an excellent opportunity to visit fascinating WW2 sites in Poland that are often overlooked by guidebooks.
Please note: the tour departs from Warsaw, but you are welcome to join us for the beginning of the tour proper in Wroclaw should this be more convenient.
Please explore the full itinerary below. If you have any questions, get in touch.
On day one we depart Warsaw and head south taking a comfortable drive through the Polish countryside to the beautiful city of Wroclaw, formerly Breslau, and check into our Hotel (we will rendezvous with any guests meeting us in Wroclaw before check-in).
On day two we travel to the site of Projekt Riese, a Nazi megastructure featuring an extensive tunnel system carved into the Owl Mountains. Historians continue to debate the purpose of the complex and whether there is Nazi gold buried there.
On day three we travel to Gross-Rosen Concentration Camp and explore this sub-camp of Sachsenhausen before returning to Wroclaw. After lunch we explore the Old Town Square of Wroclaw home to a number of curious little gnomes – How many will you be able to find?
On day four we return to Warsaw.
